Frequently Asked Questions

The Atlantic Breeders Incentive Program was started on the East Coast to promote and encourage the breeding of reining horses. The program also provides a venue to show your horses in a three year old futurity and a four, five and six year old derby. The program is growing, so come be a part of the excitement and enroll your stallion today.

How do I enroll my Stallion?
Stallion owners will pay an annual enrollment fee of $350 USD per foaling year, which will enable all current foals sired by an enrolled stallion from the resulting breeding season eligible for nomination to the futurity and derby.

How do I nominate my foal?
For a foal to be nominated to the Futurity or Derby it must first be eligible and sired by an enrolled ABI Stallion. In addition the mare owner must pay a $100 USD nomination fee for each foal before December 31 of its weanling year. The foal will be eligible to enter the Futurity and Derby.

Can a foal sired by a Non-Enrolled Stallion still be nominated to the ABI Futurity and Derby (yes)?
If a breeder or foal owner would like to nominate a foal sired by a Non-enrolled stallion the foal owner may still nominate the foal by December 31st of its weanling year provided the foal owner pay an additional fee of $100 USD for a total of $200 USD. This fee will only enable the aforementioned foal to compete.  The fee will not enable other offsprings sired by that stallion to be eligible.
